The design for the Virgin Mary Coptic Orthodox Church draws on the traditions and symbolism of the orthodox faith in a built form outcome which is also responsive to the temperate south-east Queensland climate and contemporary construction methodologies. Precast concrete provided the ideal fabric for the Church, allowing for fine grain detailing within a clean line aesthetic. Construction is now well underway on site with the initial stage of works aiming to be complete early 2025. It’s been a pleasure working with WinEllis and IQ Construct on this project.
