An afternoon on the water provided much entertainment for the Arqus Design Team as they kayaked up the Brisbane River and managed to keep dry and out of the water, of course only by a small margin. It was a great opportunity to see the Brisbane City from a unique angle and see Brisbane’s prominent landmarks from the water. The team followed this event with drinks at Riverside for Chernae who headed off overseas to do a season in the snow in Canada and then travel America.

Supporting UCI annual charity event Swim 4 Kids, the team at Arqus Design created a designer swim cap ‘Crush’. The Finding Nemo inspired cap featured alongside creations from design firms across Brisbane in the spirit of raising money for new equipment at the Royal Children’s Hospital.

To celebrate the arrival of it’s newest addition, Satu (daughter to Nicole and Essa Immonen), the Arqus Design team caught up for an afternoon of croquet. Following a delicious BBQ lunch, the team was tutored by Peter (of Merthyr Croquet Club) in this enjoyable yet surprisingly strategic sport. With a beautiful breeze, brilliant sunshine and delicious afternoon tea, the team came away feeling refreshed and satisfied that they had mastered the game of croquet.

Scott Peabody joined thousands of CEO’s from around Australia on the annual Vinnies CEO Sleepout to raise awareness and support for homeless people and those who are at risk of becoming homeless. This fantastic community event sees CEO’s of Australian companies pull together for a night of sleeping on cardboard in the cold and toughing it out to gain insight into the homeless experience.
