Arqus Design A Telstra Business Awards Finalist

Brisbane-based design practice, Arqus Design, has been recognised as a 2012 Telstra Business Awards Finalist for the HTC Start-Up Award Category.

“We would like to extend our gratitude to our excellent team for their consistent support, enthusiasm and commitment demonstrated on a daily basis,” Arqus Design director Scott Peabody said.

“Being recognised as a Finalist in the Telstra Business Awards is testament to the hard work and dedication of the Arqus Design Team.”

Arqus Design specialises in master planning, architecture and interior design. The company’s projects range in scale and typology from commercial office buildings, multi residential developments, projects within the resource sector, commercial fit-outs and bespoke residences.

Some recent signature projects include the master planning of Australand’s Hamilton Reach residential community, positioned on the Brisbane River, Hamilton Reach stages one and two residential apartments and the restoration and transformation of Kangaroo Point’s historic Yungaba House into luxury residences. Furthermore, Assisting Toll with master planning, architecture and interior design on 2 major logisitics facilities in Sout East Queensland included significant warehouse and office precinct. Arqus Design also assisted the Queensland Government with the fitout of the Queensland Multi Cultural Centre.

Arqus Design has managed consistent annual growth in architectural related services since it was established in 2009. This has been recognised earlier this year as Arqus Design was listed in BRW Fast Starters – Top 100 Companies.

Scott Peabody and Cathy Murphy acknowledge their client group, which boast organisations with a local, state and national presence, for their continued support over the past three years amidst the challenges of the financial and property climate.

“We are very appreciative for the ongoing support offered by our varied client groups and the opportunity for Arqus Design to continue to provide them with the highest standard of master planning, architecture and interior design service.”

The HTC Start-Up Award was introduced in 2012 to recognise entrepreneurial businesses that have been operating for between one and three years. To be selected as a finalist, Arqus Design had to fulfil a number of strict judging criteria, including:

  • Financial;
  • Sales and Marketing;
  • Planning and Performance;
  • Customers;
  • Team.

“The judging process has provided a great opportunity for Arqus Design’s executive team to review its business model and strategies. It also provides an opportunity to reflect upon our journey over the last three years,” Scott Peabody said.

All applicants in the Award Program received a Business Health Check report. Arqus Design’s results for the report were very pleasing with an overall rating of “Excellent” showing that Arqus Design is performing extremely well across the board.

Arqus Design is now part of the Telstra Business Awards Alumni network, an exclusive community designed for finalists and winners of the Telstra Business Awards.

The winner of the Queensland section will be announced at a Gala Dinner to be held in Brisbane on Tuesday 10th July and they will advance to the National Awards to be held later in the year.
