2016 Brisbane Regional Architecture Awards

The Australian Institute of Architects honoured 52 projects in the 2016 Brisbane Regional Architecture Awards on Friday 28th May. The judging panel presented awards for commercial, educational, public, heritage, residential and urban architecture, as well as interior and small project architecture.

Among those recognised was Arqus Design’s Macquarie Street Residences, a project which cleverly transforms the last of the Teneriffe heritage listed Woolstores into nine luxury apartments, without any disturbance to the lower floor neighbours. The AIA awarded the Macquarie Street Residences with a Regional Commendation in the Houses (Multiple Housing) category.

Arqus Design would like to thank and our clients, Hasting Developments for the opportunity to assist with this unique adaptive reuse of a heritage building. We acknowledge this award reflects the positive collaboration between Hasting Developments, Arqus Design, Clarke Constructions and the balance of the consulting team, to successfully deliver this luxury residential development.
